Video card busted?

My computer used to run games, now it says that it cannot find enough video memory and that games dont run anymore. Taken into consideration, the computer had been reformated and its OS reinstalled prior to the problem. I had tried removing the video card and putting it back again and installed the driver that came with the CD. Two hours before the problem occured, I was just playing an average video game, then after that my dad tried to reformat the PC and reinstall the OS but failed. The PC ran continously in safe mode (yet even if ran normally, it displayed a resolution similar to safe mode, and it cannot even be modified). During the problem, i tried to run the game again, but came to a message that stated 'not enough vidoe memory' or such. I had the PC repaired in hopes of having the Problems fixed. When it was delivered back, the OS and resolution was fixed, but the PC refused to run video games and that the whole PC bogged down in terms of visual performance. So what happened?|||is your Graphics card integrated or an add on. To me, it sounds like a driver problem, have you tried to uninstall the drivers and re-install them after it was fixed? You could always buy a new graphics card for gaming, you will need a good one anyway if your a true gamer.|||Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your video card from the manufacturers site.. i.e. nVidia or AMD/ATI. Who knows what the techs actually did. Also, upgrade to the latest version of DirectX. That may be your problem as well.
