sony vgn nws240 390gb harddrive intel core 2 duo proccessor, 4gb of ram, and an intel video card. it intially costed $850 but with warranty it costed $1000, i cant afford a new one. this laptop has everything i need, but i cant afford a new one should i pay the $550 for the repair? or should i get a new one. i need a computer for my online math course and the repair will take 1 week but i will need to save much longer to buy a new one. is it worth it?|||You can get a nice cheap, quality Lenovo for that math course for around 330. I have a new one that is quite comparable.|||You can probably buy a new one that is as good or better than the one you have for $550. If you bought a warranty, that won't cover it??
Any of these i3s are better
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…|||You paid $150 for insurance and you still have to pay? I would be irate! No way I would put $550 into this laptop. Just what is wrong? Did you get it at Best Buy?
For $600 you can get a new one!|||find something used you can afford
borrow a friend's for a while
warrenties are rarely worth the cost.
computers get cheaper or more powerful every year.
reduce your needs to match your "haves"|||What? $550 will get you a laptop that'll trash that Sony any day of the week. The repair is going to be more than that laptop is worth. Don't even bother.|||if all you need it for is an online math course get a new, cheaper one for the cost of the repair, after all, you dont want it to break again, better to be safe then sorry.|||does it need to be a laptop???
