My basic question is this: is it worth repairing my laptop when I don't know what exactly is wrong with it and I have to pay just to have someone find the problem before I can determine if it's worth fixing? Should I just consider this the end of it's lifespan and get another? It fell about 3 feet onto a hardwood floor today and since then it works fine in safe mode but freezes up after about 30 seconds in regular mode, I'm assuming that either the RAM or Video Card are to blame but I can't be sure, and who knows if something else is wrong too? It's been a good computer with the glaring exception that the hard drive has failed twice (covered by warranty) and the warranty just expired. It's a Toshiba Satellite A305 and it's a little over a year old. Here's the not-so-funny part: It fell because my dog decided to chase the cat and ran over me while I was sitting on the couch, knocking it out of my hands.
Thanks in advance!|||It is almost always more expensive to repair a laptop than to replace it. However, considering you dropped it, it may just be the hard drive that was damaged; take it to a repair store and have them check it out.|||There are some places which will give you free estimates on these types of repairs. It may be as simple as pushing some stuff back onto the logical board which was jarred in the fall. If you've broken something however, I'd recommend you just get a new one.|||puede ser que solo este desajustada la ram o algo pero creo que si vale la pena yo en tu lugar la repararia con un tecnico de confianza y si la piensas tirar mejor regalamela jejeje yo la reparo .
